Neighbors Helping Neighbors in the Name of Jesus

What is Samaritan Ministries?

Samaritan Ministries is spreading the love of Jesus by providing clothes, toiletries, food and other necessities to those in need in our local communities and in NYC. As a ministry of the Mission Church in Holmes NY, we look to deliver prayer, benevolence and hope to those facing life’s challenges.

HOPE ON A MISSION (HOAM)

Restoring Dignity with Love & Grace to Homeless & Addicted Women of the streets of Poughkeepsie, NY through relationships of unconditional love. Each Saturday night HOAM sets up on the Corner of Main and South Clinton Streets and give hope, love, prayer, clothing, food, and personal care items to whomever walks by.  Samaritan Ministries comes alongside HOAM serving and ministering to the homeless, addicted and needy.

BREWSTER EMERGENCY SHELTER PARTNERSHIP (BESP)

Several congregations of the Brewster community partner to provide safe sleeping during the coldest winter months for those who are in need. Samaritan Ministries comes alongside BESP by providing volunteers to cook and serve dinners, talk with the “guests” and offer prayer for those who want it.

PAWLING RESOURCE CENTER

The official mission of the Pawling Resource Center is “To enhance the lives of area residents by giving assistance to individuals in need and to local nonprofit organizations by providing information, referrals, and tangible services.” Pawling Resource Center refers clients to Samaritan Ministries for things they don’t provide such as clothing and personal care items.  We have also been able to get furniture and beds to Pawling and other residents in need, including furnishing a whole, two-bedroom apartment!
